Pops Quick Tips

Follow these simple guidelines for quick digital photo improvements.

10.  Keep Your Eye on the Horizon

It seems odd, but most people have a difficult time holding a camera level.  It is important to capture images as level as possible.  Pay attention to the horizon (or other vertical or horizontal lines - trees, door frames, etc.) before you snap your picture.

Also, where you place the horizon in your shot affects what is emphasized. To emphasize the land, put the horizon in the upper part of your frame. To emphasize the sky, put the horizon in the lower part of your frame.  Avoid a horizon line that is centered in your frame.

Photos that are crooked can be straightened digitally.  If you need help see our Basic Photo Enhancement page.
