Purple
Cheerful Disposition
Soft Allure
I was early for an appointment. While waiting, I pulled out my camera and snapped a few photos of the flowers in a flowerbed outside the meeting location.
This is why I advise photographers to keep their cameras close by. You never know when a photographic opportunity will present itself. You won’t be able to take advantage of an opportunity every time it arrives – I’m always seeing scenes I wish I could pause to capture. So, often circumstances don’t allow it, but occasionally they will. If you don’t have your camera with you, you will always miss it.

Shuttlecock
Technicolor Throne
This skipper moth was overlooking the splendor of his kingdom from the comfort of his technicolor throne, a purple cone flower.
This is a photo taken on our recent vacation. This image came from a flowerbed just outside the gift shop of the Topeka Zoo. While the rest of our party went to look through the shop, I stayed outside to snap more photos.

Delicate Purples
These delicate purple flowers were a nice touch to contrast with the bright, bold orange and yellow blooms in the background.
I saw these beauties in the small flower bed near the entrance of the Algoma, WI library. Hats off to their gifted gardener(s).

Phlox in Bloom
Blind Side Attack
While working over a purple thistle, this bumble bee was attacked from behind by another competitor. The skirmish was short and seemed pretty insignificant. After bouncing off the backside of the busy bee, the aggressor simply flew away. I’m guessing, it flew off to look for someone more its own size to pick on.
