Spring Blooming Crocus
These are the first flowers I’ve been able to photograph this spring. The Crocus is possibly the earliest of all early, spring bloomers. I found this nice clump at the N.E.W. Zoo.

Two-toned Daffodils
A most welcome sign of early spring – the Daffodil. I spotted this two-toned version along a bank filled with a colorful variety of daffodils.

Lily of the Light
I took this photo over a year ago. I had some time and just began fiddling with an Easter lily and light. I enjoy experimenting with new camera settings and lighting arrangements.
During this session I may have taken a hundred photos and I’ll discard 99 of them. This one I kept for it’s unique look – created by shining a small flashlight on the back of the flower, giving it this luminous quality. A little post processing work and I created something I felt worthy of a post.

Backyard Sanctum
Nothing is so serene as the blooming backyard flower garden. This is the place to relax and unwind…immersed in beauty and solitude.

Petal Power
These tiny flowers (and the ones in the background) are just the bit of cheerful color I needed while plodding through another bitter cold Wisconsin winter day. Hope it adds a bit of sprint-time warmth to your day.

A Little Lavender
These lilac blooms smell even better than they look. They bloom each summer in our back yard.

Alien Presence
Doing its best to blend in with the simple beauty of this wildflower, a stealthy crab spider awaits an unsuspecting victim.
I love watching the viewers reaction to shots like this. At first you see the beauty of the flower. An instant later, your brain registers the spider. How did you respond?

Cheerful Disposition
I believe I used to know the name of this flower, but it eludes me at the moment. It is one of the common wildflowers found along the woodland trails of Wisconsin. You can view a larger, more detailed version of this image by clicking on it.
Just Peachy
This trio of tulips were outstanding in their field. Nothing says, “Spring” like a vibrant patch of tulips!
I thought a bit of color would bring some life to the dead of winter.

Lonley One
I was out taking photos of a field of sunflowers and noticed this single stem of chicory growing on the edge of the road. The morning light seemed to enhance its solitary presence.
