Beauty in Red
But friendship is the breathing rose, with sweets in every fold. Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.
Botanists have classified around 400,000 different flowering plant species in the world. Many are very beautiful but, in any judgement of floral beauty, I believe all must be compared to the rose.
This beauty was not photographed at our home. Nor did I find it a the botanical gardens. This one was photographed one morning at the Yellow Rose Motel in Branson, MO. – which had a variety of roses and other beautiful flowering plants on the grounds but, ironically, I could find no yellow roses.

Thriving Mist Daisy
I found this delightfully healthy bunch of daisies growing wild in a ditch near my home. I photographed them on a foggy morning, which provided the moisture.

Splishin’ & Splashin’
This little duck was having a grand ole time, splashing up a storm, celebrating a sunny, early spring day after a long, hard winter.
I happened to catch this character and its joyful display at the N.E.W. Zoo – about 10 minutes from Green Bay, WI.

Fall On the Rocks
The colors of autumn are fading, but I have enough of this year’s collection in the digital files to last through a long winter.
I snapped this shot in the city, at my wife’s place of work while waiting to pick her up.

Beadwork
Form, flowing lines and color make this an interesting image for me. A simple hostas leaf retains the remnants of a spring shower.
