The gentle lapping of waves on the shore create a calming atmosphere as the sun prepares to rise over Lake Michigan and the Kewaunee, WI lighthouse and pier.

Sun Day
The rising sun, behind the Kewaunee, WI lighthouse, provided a beautiful start for the early morning fishermen on the pier.
I named this one, Sun Day, because it was a Sunday morning sunrise; yesterday.

Upward Call
The sea gulls soar upward as the sun beams stream downward over Lake Michigan and the Kewaunee, WI lighthouse and pier. Since the colors were somewhat muted, I decided to convert this one to a monochrome look.

Red Velvet Morning
Like red velvet rippling in the sky, the clouds above Lake Michigan contributed to a dramatic sunrise behind the Kewaunee, WI lighthouse.

Behold the Dawn
The sun is about to emerge from behind the Kewaunee, WI lighthouse and pier. Another beautiful start to a Lake Michigan morning. The expanse of sky and water makes the lighthouse seem tiny. Even smaller, is the fishing boat to the right of the lighthouse – seen as just a dot on the horizon.

Morning Whispers
The moment has arrived…the sun is just breaching the horizon and another day begins, full of promise and opportunity, whispering encouragement.

Dreamer’s Dawn
They sky was alive with exceptional color yesterday morning, as you can see from this photo taken from the beach in Kewaunee, Wisconsin.
Lake Michigan was calm and the clouds seemed to direct our attention to the tiny lighthouse silhouette on the horizon. This was taken just before sunrise.
I don’t normally get out to capture sunrises during the work week, but when I first woke up and saw this developing, I made an exception and headed for the beach.

Lake Effects
The cold waters of Lake Michigan surround the Kewaunee Lighthouse and Pier, on the lake’s western shore. This was taken just before sunrise from the beach.

Horizontal Rainbow
The early morning hours is the best time to catch a sky full of color. The best moment is just before the sunrise.
This is the beauty I found this morning at Kewaunee, WI. The time-stamp from the camera reads 4:49 am. Sunrise was at 5:09 am.

Siblings
On my way to an appointment, I happened to pass by a small pond in the city. I was running a little early so I stopped for a moment to snap a few frames of the new arrivals.
It’s hard to find anything cuter than newly hatched ducklings. These are your basic, wild, mallard variety babies. They just stepped out of the water so they’re still a bit damp.
