A future football fan gets a unique perspective of the game in a life-size display at the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI. It’s a fun place for the whole family, plenty to look at – especially for the true football fan.

Like a Dream – Inspirational
This is one of my favorite photos with a bit of scripture added. This is a male ruby-throated hummingbird photographed in my back yard.

Star of Bethlehem
These flowers serve as cheerful, early spring greeters at the entrance of the Algoma Public Library.
I did an internet search to identify them as Star of Bethlehem.

Engaged
Meet David, Michelle…and the jewelry box. When we met at a local park for their Engagement Photo shoot, they told me they wanted to include this jewelry box in one of the photos because it held sentimental importance to them.
The jewelry box cover says, “You are My Forever Love.” It was a gift from David to Michelle on the day he proposed to her. In fact, it was the jewelry box that provided the words. The box has an audio feature. It will record your voice and play your personal message whenever the box is opened. David recorded his proposal to Michelle and gave her the box as a gift. When she opened it…well, I didn’t get the details of that encounter, but the photo above tells you everything you need to know.
There was a moment as we were preparing that he opened the box and the message began to play. I quickly moved away so I couldn’t hear it. I don’t know if they cared whether I heard it or not but, to me, it just seemed too special, to private, a moment for young lovers, for her ears only.

Skyward Inspiration
The sky above Lake Michigan and the lighthouse at Kewaunee, Wisconsin had an inspirational feel to it, complete with calm, reflective water, the dramatic, yet warm, glow of sunlight filtered through textured clouds, a lone fisherman on the pier and a formation of geese high overhead.
This image was taken on a Saturday morning. I was glad to capture the geese flying though the scene, as it doesn’t happen often. (At least, not often enough for me.)

Spring of Glory
This beautiful flow of colorful tulips was photographed this spring at the West of the Lake Gardens in Manitowoc, WI.

Shy Dove
I took my camera for a walk around the yard. It had been a rainy day and I thought I might get another perspective of the “normal,” since everything would still be wet.
While stooping down to take a photo of some bleeding hearts in the flowerbed, I saw something run from one clump of plants to another. It took some stalking to finally get a look at what had moved.
It’s a young mourning dove; very young and apparently too small to fly. I was able to catch this shot before it darted, again, into the brush. It must have thought it was hidden pretty well. I saw it again, the next day, hanging out with other birds, grazing under some bird feeders. When they saw me, the birds flew off…and this one ran for the safety of the flowerbed.

Sea of Gulls
Seagulls take to flight before the Kewaunee, Wisconsin pier and lighthouse as the sun rises over Lake Michigan.
Yesterday I was on the beach to photograph the sunrise. I had finished started walking back to the car, ready to head home to grab breakfast before going to work. As I neared the parking lot, I noticed a large number of seagulls resting on the beach. I figured, as I got closer, they would eventually take off. So I prepared my camera for the shot.
When they began to take off, with my camera at arm’s length, I just pointed in their direction and snapped away – one-handed because I was carrying my tripod in the other. Looking directly into the brightness of the sun, I really couldn’t see what I was shooting, so I was rather pleased with what I saw when I downloaded the morning’s images to my computer.

Simple Spring
While walking through a swampy area of woods, I stumbled upon this simple, single flower. The bright area behind the flower is daylight reflecting off a wet area. I don’t know what kind of flower it was, but it was small. This bloom was only about the size of a thumbnail.

Family Outing
It’s great to be able to get the kids outdoors for a little exercise. This family of Canada geese are making their way to the other side of the pond.
The “cute factor” makes this scene a winner. Beyond that, I was very pleased with the vivid green reflection on the water, created by the trees lining the shore. I’ll have to add this to my “favorites” category.
I captured this image on a recent visit to the Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve, located along the west shore of the Bay of Green Bay.
