This is one of those photos that seems like it could support some inspirational quote or Bible verse added.  I like the image, as is, and have been able to resist the temptation so far, but I’m feeling a little weak.  If someone were to suggest the right quote or verse, my resolve might crumble.

Eyes On You

Cat, Cat Eyes, Cat Face, Cat CloseupI’d been itching to take some photos.  It had been a few days since I had taken the time to pull my camera out of the case. As I often do, I just took my camera for a walk around my yard.  It was the end of the day…near sunset.  Our cat, Dorry, was an easy target.  The soft light and low angle of the sun added a nice quality to this image.

Gazing Beyond

Lemur, B&W, Tail

It’s all in the eyes. This ring-tailed lemur obviously had his mind on other things.  This is one picture, I think , is worth a thousand or so words.

What do you imagine he’s thinking about? Is he working calculus problems in his head?  Fondly remembering a long lost love? Thinking ahead of an upcoming vacation on a secluded, tropical island? Fresh bananas?

I don’t know exactly what he was thinking about.  Your guess is as good as mine.

Leapin’ Lemurs

These Ring-tailed Lemurs didn’t care to walk among the herd of turtles on their path, so they took to leaping over them. The turtles just watched.

Notice the pink reflection in the water.  Those are flamingos on the shore beyond the water’s edge.

I snapped a number of photos of the Lemurs on a recent visit to the zoo in Indianapolis, IN.  You’ll see a few more images posted here in the near future, so check back often.

Doe Eyes

Deer, Doe, WhitetailOn a walk along the trails of a Missouri nature center, we encountered this docile woodland beast.  One look at that face and the meaning of the term “doe-eyed” becomes crystal clear.

Here’s the American Heritage Dictionary definition…

doe-eyed

adjective

1.  Having wide-open, innocent-appearing eyes.

2. Credulous and unsophisticated; naive.
