This is one of my favorite photos – a simple daisy, processed to a monochrome image. I recently found this quote from Walt Whitman that I thought would be a nice addition.

An hour before the wedding, the groom waits patiently for the impending nuptials.
Our son, Paul, waits in the background as the room is decorated with flowers and arranged for a simple wedding ceremony. Sara, (his mother, my wife) did a wonderful job with the flowers and preparation.

Blue Ice
I find the detail in this icicle interesting. It’s made a bit more appealing by the light of a setting sun in the background.
These icicles were hanging off the front porch of our home in rural Wisconsin.

Road to Nowhere
On a foggy winter morning I was out snapping scenery. I decided to take a different perspective on a road near our home.
This is one of those images where you can stare and contemplate what deep meaning the artist was trying to convey. (That’s what I’m doing.)

Fall Leaf Patterns
The color of this little autumn woodland scene caught my eye. The lines and textures of the leaves kept my interest. The little stem that supported these leaves was covered with tiny thorns.

New Beginnings
This is a springtime image – new growth on young trees. I took this photo last spring in some woods near our home. I added a bit of texture to it, adding some visual interest.

Fall Family Outing

Honing my Family Portrait skills. I thought the family seemed pretty relaxed for this one. I also thought the setting, with the river running through the background, was relaxing, too.

Epic Spiral Stairway
Things are looking up. (Well, I was, anyway.) This is a view of a unique spiral stairway with my wife and son looking down at me. (Probably thinking, “Can we go now? How many more pictures are you going to take?”)
These are photos I took a couple of years ago as we toured the company my son works for – Epic in Verona, WI. They specialize in software for the medical industry. They have a very cool campus with buildings that tend to be theme oriented, accented with unique architecture, sculpture and artwork. Plenty of cool stuff to point a camera at.
All these images are looking up at the same stairway from different angles.

I am often amazed at the wealth of creativity in our world. I am awed at how someone can create something useful, interesting, provocative, beautiful and captivating that never would have entered my mind were I given the same materials and opportunity.
This sculpture of metal and glass is an example. You may, or may not, find it appealing but you can’t deny the incredible creativity of the artist who created it.
I found and photographed this art in the hallway of a major software company. I added a little bit of shading and texture to the blue wall.
If you look closely, you can see my reflection in the colorful glass ball that rests at the center of the flower.
