Wisconsin
Queen Monoplane
They don’t make them like this anymore. This is the Queen Monoplane – a part of early aviation history. As you can see by it’s markings, it was used to deliver mail. It is part of the historic aviation displays at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s (EAA) AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The E.A.A. museum is a very cool place to learn about the history of aviation. You’ll find historic aircraft and information from the Wright Brother’s flyer to spacecraft. They have a great Warbirds exhibit.

Heaven Above
The sky was glorious the morning I captured this image. It was shortly after sunrise and the low angle of the sun was only lighting up certain areas of the sky.
This is the Kewaunee, Wisconsin lighthouse and pier on the western shore of Lake Michigan.

Winter Convention
The geese were thick as thieves as they congregated on the December ice covering the harbor at Kewaunee, WI. These are wild, Canada geese.
The early morning light provided an interesting quality to this scene…which I enhanced further, taking a little artistic licence.

Alternate Reality
The over saturated effect in this image of the Kewaunee, WI lighthouse gives it an other-worldly feel. Kewaunee is located on the western shore of Lake Michigan.
This is a stylistic experiment for me. Every now and then, I try something totally out of my normal box. I like this image…but I’m not sure I’d like a lot of it.

Flight At the Museum
The Air Racing and Aerobatics Gallery at the EAA AirVenture Museum displays an outstanding and colorful collection of classic air racers and high-flying stunt planes. The cool part is, these are the actual, history making aircraft. Many of them hang from the ceilings. Along with the planes, there are tons of trophies and memorabilia. The museum is located in Oshkosh, WI.

Fall In the Creek
A serene scene of natural beauty. Colorful autumn leaves blanketed the ground and floated by on a gently flowing Wisconsin woodland stream.
This is an image from last fall in the woods across the field from our home. A very peaceful, highly enjoyable morning in the woods.

Mushrooms On Wood
On a hike through the autumn woods, I thought it was odd to find these mushrooms growing out of a fallen tree. (Or are they toad stools?) In any case, they intrigued me.

Pheasant Profile
The colors and intricate plumage patterns found on the ring-necked pheasant make it one of the world’s most handsome birds.
I snapped this beautiful specimen last Saturday. I spotted him in the ditch along the road. This time of year, it is common to see pheasants roaming the countryside in our area or Northeast Wisconsin.
